Hisar, 13 April (Hissar). Bajrang Garg, President of Haryana Pradesh Trade Board and former Chairman of Haryana Confed, has said that all the claims of the government regarding purchase and payment of mustard and wheat have proved to be unsuccessful. The grain markets are filled with mustard and the purchase and payment for mustard is not being made. After taking stock of wheat procurement in the local grain market on Saturday, he was talking to the traders in the grain market.
He said that due to lack of timely procurement and lifting of mustard and wheat, there are long lines of trolleys loaded with grains outside the mandis, due to which farmers, commission agents and laborers are facing huge problems. He said that due to lack of government procurement of mustard, farmers are forced to sell their mustard at Rs 4600 to Rs 5000 per quintal, whereas the MSP of mustard is Rs 5650 per quintal. Similarly, government procurement agencies are deliberately delaying the purchase of wheat. He said that due to the wrong policies of the government, commission agents, farmers and laborers are very unhappy in the state. Under BJP rule, middlemen do not get commission and farmers do not get full price for their crops. Therefore the commission agent and the farmer are on the verge of ruin.
Bajrang Garg said that the commission agents used to get 2.5 percent commission for many years but this government has abolished the commission of commission agents on government purchases of mustard, sunflower, narma, millet, moong etc. The government's decision to impose a commission of Rs 10.99 on wheat purchase and 9.19 paise on paddy is an anti-trader decision. Due to this decision, there is huge resentment among the businessmen of Haryana towards the government. He said that due to the negligence of government officials and grain lifting contractors, there is a delay in grain lifting. All the claims made by the government about purchasing, lifting and timely payment of grains have proved to be hollow.
There is not even any basic facility provided by the government for purchasing mustard and wheat in the mandis. There is no arrangement for cleanliness and water in the markets. The mandis are filled with grains due to delay in procurement and lifting due to negligence of government officials. The government should purchase, lift and make payment for mustard and wheat within 72 hours.
