There is an atmosphere of mourning among everyone including political veterans due to the demise of former PM Manmohan Singh. Last night he breathed his last at the age of 92. At present his mortal remains have been kept at his residence for darshan. Then the President, PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge reached his residence. PM Modi spoke to his family and consoled them.
PM Modi paid tribute
Recalling his relationship with Dr. Manmohan through a video message, PM Modi said that we all are deeply saddened by the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. His demise is a great loss for us as a nation. It is not common to come to India after losing a lot during the partition period and achieve achievements in every sphere of life here. His life will continue to teach the coming generations to rise above difficulties and struggles and achieve great heights.

PM Modi further said that he will always be remembered as a great person, a learned economist, a leader dedicated to reforms. As an economist, he served at various levels in the Government of India. He assumed the role of Reserve Bank Governor in challenging times. While being the Finance Minister during the tenure of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Narasimha Rao, he paved the way for a new economy in the country facing financial crisis. As Prime Minister, his contribution to the development and progress of the country will always be remembered. ,
PM Modi said on his birthday
PM Modi further said that he should stay away from party politics and always remain in touch with everyone. When I was CM, Dr. National and international issues were discussed openly with Singh. After coming here to Delhi, I used to talk and meet him from time to time. I will always remember my meetings with him and discussions about the country. I also talked to him when it was his birthday. My condolences to his family.
