At around 2 am on April 30, a section of a highway collapsed in an area in southern China, killing several people. The incident occurred in Meizhou city of Guangdong province, where a large section of the highway collapsed, killing about 19 people traveling on the road. The local official of Mazhow urban area says that a few days ago there was a situation like heavy rain in this area. Rain is considered to be the main reason for this incident. Talking about the accident in Mazhow city, an official said in his statement that a 17.9 meter i.e. 58.7 feet long portion of the highway collapsed, due to which about 18 vehicles fell down the slope. The incident happened at midnight. The people present there at that time told that he was going through this road at night, as soon as he passed through this road, he heard a loud noise, when he looked back, he saw a several meter wide crater on the highway.

In videos and pictures released by local media, smoke and fire can be seen due to the fallen vehicles on the spot. The rescue operation is going on at the spot, currently the rescue workers have taken 30 people to the hospital. Burnt vehicles can also be seen when looking down from the highway. After this accident, there was a long jam on the entire highway.
