Highest population of VVIP prisoners in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: Naturally, the notorious criminals are the most troubled in the country's most infamous jail. But if you think so then you are wrong. If there is maximum terror in the biggest and most notorious jail of the country, then it is not of the hoofed prisoners but of the VVIP prisoners. These words are not from anyone else but former DG Neeraj Kumar, who was the jailer of Tihar Jail.

Former Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that utmost care will have to be taken regarding VVIP prisoners in Tihar Jail. One is that since he is a VVIP, he should be treated with utmost respect. They cannot be treated like other prisoners.

On the other hand, along with security, they will also have to keep a constant eye on them. Being a VVIP prisoner, if he is in danger of being attacked in the open, then keeping him safe among the prisoners inside the jail is a headache. It is even more difficult to make them follow the jail manual and keep them back like normal prisoners. These VVIP prisoners are accustomed to doing their own thing. Now for those outside the jail who do not follow the rules and are in jail because of it, enforcing jail rules among the hoofed prisoners inside the jail is like chewing iron grams.

There is a fear of being attacked or threatened. You have to keep a constant eye on them. Their safety has to be taken care of more than that of other prisoners. So the situation is the same for the police here also. Whether outside the jail or inside the jail, they have to be on the lookout for VVIPs.

Some of the high-profile names from Delhi include currently Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his former cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia, lodged in Tihar jail. He said that during his tenure as Director General of Jail, he has handled the maximum number of VVIPs.

These include Commonwealth Games scamster Suresh Kalmadi, Kanimozhi, 2G spectrum scammer A Raja, top Reliance officials, Amar Singh, IAS officers and IPS officers. He said that VVIPO will have to follow the same rules as an undertrial of the jail, just like any other ordinary prisoner.

However, great care has to be taken in keeping VVIPs in jail. VVIP prisoners are more likely to be attacked or threatened than other prison inmates.

Regarding Delhi Police, he said that the biggest blessing for them is that there is no pressure on them from local leaders. On the contrary, since they are directly answerable to the central government, they are under direct pressure from the central government. Whatever happens in the country, its echo falls directly in Delhi. Take the recent farmers' movement. Therefore, handling the security of Delhi is more difficult than any other state or city in the country. Apart from this, there is no such thing as keeping the roads of Delhi safe.
