New Delhi: Wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in India increased by 11 percent year-on-year in February. Giving this information, industry organization SIAM said that their hold on the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) market remains strong.
Auto companies shipped a total of 3,70,786 passenger vehicles to dealers last month, compared to 3,34,790 units in the same period a year ago.
The highest ever sales of passenger vehicles were recorded in February this year, SIAM said in a statement. Compared to February 2023, this figure has increased by 10.8 percent to 3.7 lakh units.
Total two-wheeler sales increased by 35 percent to 15,20,761 units in the month under review, as against 11,29,661 units in the same month last year. Similarly, wholesale sales of three-wheelers in February stood at 54,584 units, which was 50,382 units in the same month last year.
Sales of passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers increased in February 2024 compared to last year, while sales of commercial vehicles declined slightly.
