High Court's big decision regarding 2364 ETT recruitment, teachers breathed a sigh of relief – News India Live

ETT Recruitment: Candidates selected in 2364 ETT recruitment in Punjab have got a big relief. The Punjab and Haryana High Court (Punjab and Haryana High Court) has lifted the ban on releasing the results of 2364 ETT recruitments in Punjab. The High Court dismissed the petitions filed in this regard on Thursday. This has now cleared the way for releasing the final result of the appointment.

Earlier, the High Court had said that counseling for recruitment can be continued but the final result of the appointment should not be released till the next hearing. Separate petitions were filed seeking quashing of the decision of the Directorate of Education Recruitment, Punjab dated 7 September 2024 and said that on the opinion of the AG office of Punjab, those who have received 18 months DEIED from NIOS. Of course, they are ineligible.

The petitioners' side told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the Punjab government took this decision without any court order and rejected the petitioners' claim.

During the recruitment of 2364 Elementary Training Teachers (ETT), the written examination was conducted on 29th November 2020 and after verification of the documents of the applicants the merit list was released on 5th December 2020.

After this, some applicants filed a petition in the High Court on 13 January 2021 and challenged the decision to give 5 marks separately to applicants with higher education. Due to this, the issuance of appointment letters was stopped on 12 February 2020.
