High court seeks response from state government in PCS J exam case | News India

Prayagraj, September 14 (HS). The High Court has once again sought a reply from the state government on the recommendation made by the Commission in the case of irregularities in the answer sheets of the Public Service Commission's PCS J 2022 main examination. The court has asked the government what decision has the government taken on the recommendation of the commission to exclude the two previously selected candidates from the selection and include two new candidates in the selection. The court has given time to the state government to file a reply on this.

On the demand of CBI investigation and registration of FIR, the court has asked for a reply on the amendment petition submitted by the candidate who filed the petition. A reply has been specifically sought on the demand of getting the investigation done by CBI and registering FIR made in the petition. The court has also said that till the hearing of the case is going on, all the records related to this examination should be kept safe.

The division bench of Justice SD Singh and Justice D Ramesh, hearing the petition of Shravan Pandey, has fixed 30 September for the next hearing of the case. The counsel for the petitioner said that this is a big scam. Senior advocate SFA Naqvi, representing the petitioner, raised many questions on the role of the commission before the court. He said that the commission had earlier accepted the irregularities in 50 answer sheets. But now this number is increasing. Two of those candidates have filed a petition in the High Court, while the commission itself has recommended the selection of two. Many other candidates are also preparing to file a petition. This shows that this number is much more than the number being told by the commission. The commission had earlier asked for the results of seven people to be cancelled. But later released a list of six and finally recommended the selection of only two candidates. The commission is constantly changing its stand.

-Two other candidates also reached the court

During the hearing, advocates from two other candidates also mentioned in the court that they are also filing a petition. On this, the court said that their petition will be considered after it is filed, while apart from Shravan Pandey, the petition of two other candidates was heard.

Earlier, during the hearing, the High Court had raised questions on the Commission's recommendation to revise the result itself and exclude two candidates from the selection and include two in the selection. The court wanted to know from where the Commission gets this power and if it is so, then it needs to be considered seriously. An affidavit was filed in the High Court on behalf of the Commission. However, the state government demanded more time. On which the court has directed to hear the case on September 30 and asked the state government to file a reply.
