Jaipur, August 8 (HS). Rajasthan High Court has sought answers from Chief Secretary, Principal Mines Secretary, Mines Director, Divisional Commissioner, Deeg Collector and SP among others for not stopping illegal mining in the hilly tehsil of Deeg. The division bench of Justice Pankaj Bhandari and Justice Praveer Bhatnagar gave this order while hearing the PIL filed by Vijay Mishra and others.

In the petition, advocate DD Khandelwal told the court that a large amount of illegal mining is being done in the Pahadi tehsil. To stop this, the local residents have complained to the administration and police several times since February 2019. The administration officials visited the place and considered it to be illegal mining, but no action was taken to stop it. The petitioner had also given a representation to the officials last month for a CBI inquiry into the matter, but no decision was taken on that either. It was told in the petition that after complaining at a high level, a raid was conducted here, but due to collusion before the arrival of the team, the miners got the information and they absconded. It was told on behalf of the petitioner that explosives are used in mining near densely populated areas. Due to which a danger has arisen for the local residents. In the petition, a plea was made to stop the illegal mining going on here. Hearing on which, the division bench has sought a reply from the concerned officials.
