Prayagraj, 02 August (HS). Allahabad High Court has said that if an assistant teacher is working as a headmaster, then he should get salary as per the post of headmaster.
The court has directed the District Basic Education Officer Sambhal to pay regular salary along with arrears to all the in-charge headmasters in two months as per the post of the headmaster. This order has been given by Justice Prakash Padia on the petition of Gaurav Yadav and 227 other in-charge headmasters.
In various blocks of Sambhal district, 227 assistant teachers are working as in-charge principals in their respective schools. At the same time, they are being paid the salary of an assistant teacher. A petition was filed in the High Court against this and a demand was made to pay them the salary as per the post of Principal.
The petitioner assistant teachers said that if someone works as an in-charge, he is entitled to get salary and allowances as per that post. They cited the decisions of the Supreme Court and High Court in their favour. On which the court has given this order.
