Prayagraj, 02 August (HS). Allahabad High Court said that cheating in government job examinations harms not only a single person but the entire society. Those involved in cheating should be dealt with strictly. Cheating weakens the principles of merit and equal opportunity. It harms those youth who work hard trusting their abilities.

Making this remark, Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal rejected the bail plea of ​​Amit Kumar, accused of tampering in the UP constable recruitment exam.

An examination was conducted by the UP Police Recruitment Board for the selection of constables on 17 February 2024 at PRT Saraswati Inter College in Shikohabad. During this time, Amit Kumar was sitting and giving the exam in place of Sachin Yadav. He was caught during biometric verification. A case was registered in the concerned police station under fraud, UP Public Examination Act and other sections. While the case was pending, he filed an application in the High Court for bail.

The accused's lawyer said that he has been implicated in a false case. He has been in jail since 17 February 2024. He has no criminal history. He will not misuse the bail if granted. At the same time, the Additional Government Advocate opposed the bail. The court rejected the bail and said that those who commit irregularities in government examinations should be dealt with strictly.
