Hezbollah said, will stop war with Israel after ceasefire in Gaza

Beirut, July 03 (HS). Regarding the ongoing conflict on the Lebanon-Israel border, the deputy leader of the Lebanese extremist group Hezbollah said on Tuesday that after a complete ceasefire in Gaza, his group will also stop the war.

“If there is a ceasefire in Gaza, we will stop the war without any discussion,” Hezbollah deputy leader Sheikh Naim Qassem said in an interview at the group's political office in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Qassem said Hezbollah's participation in the Israel-Hamas war has been as a “support front” for its ally Hamas and that if the war stops, the military support will also end. He said, however, that if Israel withdraws its entire army from Gaza without any formal ceasefire agreement, the complications of the ongoing Lebanon-Israel conflict could remain.

“If there is a mix-up in Gaza about whether there is a ceasefire or not, war or no war, we cannot answer that right now (about how we will react) because we do not know its form, its consequences, its impact,” Qassem said.
