Deir-al-Bilah: After the death of Hassan Nasrallah, extremist group Hezbollah has elected Naeem Qasim as its new leader. On the other hand, Palestine's Health Ministry said that 60 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a five-storey building in Gaza. However, Hezbollah has vowed to follow the policies of its Jannah Nassim leader Hassan Nasrallah until victory is achieved.
Naim Qasim, originally a chemistry teacher, has now been elected leader of Hezbollah. After retirement, he remained busy studying religious texts. He has been appointed to the new post by Hezbollah's Shura Council. He will now be the general secretary of that group.
71-year-old Kartak has been associated with the group since its formation in 1982. He has been associated with Hezbollah in some capacity for 32 years. He has served as Nasrallah's deputy for 32 years. He was becoming the public face of Hezbollah. White turban is his specialty. He is one of the founding members of Hezbollah. But he has neither the eloquence nor the charm of his predecessors.
Naeem Qasim has been declared a terrorist by the US because he supports terrorist groups like Hezbollah.
