Hemant Soren released on bail after five months, given a grand welcome outside the jail

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has got bail in the money laundering case. Jharkhand High Court released Hemant Soren on bail in the ED land scam case. Soren was also asked to deposit a bond of Rs 50,000. Hemant Soren was arrested by ED at the end of January this year. He remained in jail for about five months. While granting bail, the High Court also said that prima facie Hemant Soren does not seem guilty. Therefore, releasing him on bail does not constitute any crime.

After getting bail from the High Court, Hemant Soren came out of Birsa Mandwa Jail in Ranchi, during which a large number of his supporters gathered outside the jail. Jail officials said that Hemant Soren was released at four in the evening. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supporters raised slogans in support of Hemant Soren outside the jail. His wife Kalpana Soren thanked the court and supporters. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed happiness and thanked the judiciary.

Hemant Soren's lawyer Kapil Sibal argued strongly in the court and said that ED has falsely implicated Hemant Soren in the crime case. When ED claimed in the court that Hemant Soren misused the position of Chief Minister to grab 8.86 acres of land in Ranchi. Soren ordered his partner Abhishek Prasad to tamper with the documents to change the ownership of the land. However, the High Court said that on the basis of the documents and evidence presented by the ED, Soren's bail is granted as there is no prima facie evidence of the crime occurring. Now ED can go to the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court.

After being released from jail, Hemant Soren said that I have come out of jail after five months, I have been worried about all the people of Jharkhand including tribals for five months. The whole country knows why I was put in jail. Finally justice was done and that is why I am out today. I am still worried about the way journalists, writers, social workers are being arrested. I was kept in jail for five months in a false case. Referring to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently in jail, Soren said that anyone who raises voice against the government is being crushed. The Chief Minister is in jail in Delhi, people have been put in jail despite being ministers, the process of justice is taking so long that days have turned into months and months into years. Those who are raising their voice even in this situation deserve congratulations.
