Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led India Bloc has won a big victory in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. It has been five days since the election results came and now a new government has been formed in Jharkhand. Governor Santosh Gangwar has appointed Hemant Soren as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Hemant Soren took the oath of office and secrecy as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at a grand ceremony held at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.
Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hemant Soren. Hemant has become the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the fourth time. There was discussion that six to eight ministers would also take oath along with the Chief Minister but this did not happen. The minister took oath along with the CM at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi. His father and three-time former Chief Minister Shibu Soren was also present at Hemant’s swearing-in ceremony.
On the occasion of formation of Hemant government, leaders of India Block also arrived and showed their strength. On this occasion, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, former Chief Minister of UP Akhilesh Yadav were also present.
The results of Jharkhand assembly elections came on 23 November. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led India Bloc won 56 seats in the elections. The day after the results, Hemant Soren met the Governor and claimed to form the government.
