Jharkhand’s new CM Hemant Soren: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led India Bloc won a big victory in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. It has been five days since the election results came and now a new government has been formed in Jharkhand. Governor Santosh Gangwar has appointed Hemant Soren as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Hemant Soren took the oath of office and secrecy as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand in a grand ceremony held at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.
Leaders of ‘India’ block reached the swearing-in ceremony of Hemant government. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav were also present.
Let us tell you here that in the Jharkhand Assembly elections, JMM, Congress, RJD and Left parties had contested in alliance. The JMM-led alliance won 56 seats. There are total 81 members in Jharkhand Assembly and 41 seats are required for majority. Then the number of ‘India’ block is 15 more than the number required for majority. JMM alone won 34 seats, Congress 16, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) four, Left parties two.
