The Election Commission makes every effort to reach out to all voters. The sole objective of the Election Commission is to reach out to the voters living in the hinterland, even if the number of voters in those areas is very less.
Helicopters will be used extensively to transport polling personnel to some remote areas of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Helicopters will be used to transport polling personnel to more than 200 booths in more than 12 districts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
The Election Commission will also employ elephants to transport polling personnel to polling stations in West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and some states in the North East.
There will be elephant traffic at 170 polling stations in five districts of West Bengal alone as they have to pass through forests and elephants are the best means of transportation. For this, special instructions have been given to the Forest Department to make preparations.
Along with this, boats will be used to transport polling personnel to polling centers in some districts of 12 states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha.
