Nepal Monsoon: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Nepal. In the last 24 hours, 14 people have died and many have been injured due to landslides and floods caused by rain in the country. According to data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nepal, eight out of 14 people died due to landslides, while five people died due to lightning and one person died due to floods.
NDRMA spokesperson Dijan Bhattarai said, '14 people lost their lives in a total of 44 incidents on June 26. Two people are still missing in this incident, while 10 people have been injured.' According to Nepal's Home Ministry, 33 districts have been affected since the onset of monsoon in the country, in which 147 incidents of landslides and floods have been recorded.

28 people lost their lives in the last 17 days
According to the records of Nepal's Home Ministry, a total of 28 people have lost their lives in the last 17 days, of which at least 13 people died due to lightning, while 14 people died due to landslides. This year the monsoon has reached Nepal on time and the death toll due to heavy rains in the country is also very high.
Thousands of people are affected by landslides and floods every year in Nepal. Monsoon in Nepal begins on June 13 and remains active for about three months. It is ending on September 23. Last year, it started on June 14, a day late from the normal starting day.
