The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has estimated rain, thunder and strong winds in some parts of Maharashtra by May 24. This weather pattern is arising due to cyclonic circulation on the East-Central Arabian Sea, far from the Karnataka coast.

The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow alert for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) for the next four days, warning of light to moderate rain.
