IMD Rainfall Update: Monsoon has reached most of the states of the country. Rain has started after the entry of monsoon in Bihar. The Meteorological Department says that monsoon will enter eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next two to three days. The effect of pre-monsoon is being seen in many areas of eastern UP. Light to moderate rain occurred in Ayodhya and surrounding areas on Saturday morning. After this, there has been relief from the temperature. Monsoon has not yet knocked in the western part of Uttar Pradesh and western Rajasthan and people here are still facing heat.
Possibility of rain in 9 states
There has been light rain in the areas around Delhi during the last 24 hours. Rain is expected in 9 states in the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha, West Bengal, Andaman Nicobar and Sikkim. Monsoon may reach Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh and eastern Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Winds are also expected to blow at a speed of 40 here.
The Meteorological Department says that heavy rains may occur in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh including Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next three to four days. Delhi NCR will also start getting relief in the next four days. The Meteorological Department estimates that the monsoon will reach Delhi by June 30.
This time the heat wave was also seen in the hilly areas. However, people in the mountains of Himachal and Uttarakhand have now got relief from the heat. Due to the rain in the last three days, the temperature has dropped here. A heavy rain alert has been issued in Uttarakhand between 24 and 30 June. With rain on the mountains, the possibility of landslides also increases. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert.
