Heavy rains in Rajasthan for the last three days have disrupted normal life. Rain-related disaster has claimed the lives of 20 people in the last 24 hours. Five people are missing in the state.
Due to heavy rain on Monday morning, orders have been given to close schools and colleges in seven districts including Jaipur, Dholpur, Karoli, Dausa and Sawai Madhopur. A rescue operation was carried out on Monday to save 100 people stranded in Ranthambore. According to the weather department forecast, it may rain in the state on Tuesday as well. Jaipur received 118 mm of rain in 24 hours. It has rained here. From June 1 to August 12, Rajasthan received 397.8 mm of rain, 40 percent more than normal. It has rained here. 56 percent more rain than normal has been recorded in eastern Rajasthan. 31 percent more rain has been recorded in eastern Rajasthan.
Heavy rains are occurring not only in Rajasthan but in entire North India. As of Sunday, 31 people have died in rain-related incidents in areas including Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. 8 people are missing in four states. People are also feeling relieved by the rains in Haryana, as the embankment on the Som river has broken and the surrounding villages have been flooded.
110 mm rain in Chandigarh in 3 hours
On Sunday, Chandigarh received 110 mm rainfall in just three hours. On Sunday, a total of 129.7 mm rainfall disrupted life. It was raining heavily. Roads, markets and residential areas were flooded. In some areas, water entered shops and houses. Due to waterlogging on the road, vehicular movement was stopped. Vehicles started moving fast on the road. Due to rain exceeding the capacity of the drains, the drainage lines started slowing down.
The record room of the High Court was flooded again
Due to heavy rains in Chandigarh on Sunday, water entered the record room of the Punjab and Haryana High Court located in Sector 17. The employees were forced to immediately evacuate and secure the records. Although the employees tried hard to remove the records, some files got wet. The Chief Justice himself went to the record room and inspected the shifting work. The employees formed a human chain and took the records to a safe place.
