Morena, 07 July (HS). After two days of drizzling rain, the city suddenly witnessed heavy rain for one and a half hours on Sunday. While the rain has provided relief from the heat to the citizens, people had to face problems due to waterlogging on the main roads and streets.
On Sunday, it started raining heavily from 8 am. Due to the heavy rain, people were not able to come out of their houses to buy vegetables, milk and for other essential work. Due to the rain, people were imprisoned in their houses. Due to the heavy rain for about one and a half hours, not only the streets were filled with water, but people had trouble in commuting as the water filled up to the knees on the road. Such a situation persisted from Sabji Mandi Chowk to Tehsil Chowk.
The pedestrians were troubled due to waterlogging at the intersection of Tikonia Park and at the turn of SDOP Bungalow and Subhash Road. Apart from this, the streets of Sanjay Nagar, Dakkhana Road, Singal Pura, Ramnagar and Islampur were filled with water. This waterlogging remained a cause of trouble for the residents. However, the heavy rain of one and a half hours gave relief to the citizens from humidity and heat to a great extent.
