IMD Rainfall Alert: Many areas of North India, including hilly areas, are going to receive torrential rains in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has said in its weather update released on Thursday that Northeast India and Western Himalayan regions will receive very heavy rains for the next seven days, while parts of eastern India will receive heavy rains for the next three to four days. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in at least 20 states, including UP.
Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains occurred over East Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, while heavy rains have also been recorded over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, West Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya.
According to the Meteorological Department, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Rajasthan will continue to rain for the entire week. Heavy rain is going to occur in Eastern Rajasthan on 8 August, Himachal Pradesh on 10 August, and Uttarakhand on 10 and 14 August. Apart from this, heavy rain warning has been issued in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan on 8-14 August, Haryana and Chandigarh on 8 and 9 August, Uttar Pradesh on 8-12 August, Western Rajasthan on 9-14 August, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh on 10 and 11 August.
Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has said about Western and Central India that rain will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat. Rain will continue for a week in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch. Very heavy rain is expected in eastern Madhya Pradesh on August 8. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Chhattisgarh on August 8, in Western Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa on August 8 and 9, in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Central Maharashtra on August 8-10.
