Heavy rain continues in Madhya Pradesh, eight people died in separate incidents of lightning

On Thursday, there was a spell of heavy rain in many districts including the capital Bhopal. During this, three youths got trapped in a gushing waterfall in Morena. The rescue team rescued them safely after a lot of hard work. On Thursday, eight people died in incidents of lightning at different places in the state, while more than 15 got burnt.

On Thursday, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law died due to lightning in Ghevari Panchayat of Dindori district. Gulshan Bai (48) and daughter-in-law Sangeeta Bai (28) were planting paddy in their field. During this time, they were struck by lightning. Meanwhile, in Chhattarpur, a 9-year-old third class student was struck by lightning in a school campus. He died. Here, seven members of the same family working in the field were struck by lightning. One died and 6 were injured.

At the same time, farmer Ramnarayan (40) died in village Rajapur under Ajaygarh police station area of ​​Panna district. He was ploughing the field when he was struck by lightning. Similarly, Parvati Khatik (32) was struck by lightning while planting paddy in Sansan village in Bhitarwar of Gwalior. She died on the spot. A farmer Deepak Jatav (23) also died in Naan ki Sarai village. A farmer has also died in Tikamgarh. He was transplanting paddy in the field. 10 people were burnt due to lightning in Shivpuri.

According to the weather department, due to the monsoon being active in the state, it is raining well. On Thursday, one and a half inches of water fell in Bhopal in one hour. Due to which low-lying settlements, roads and colonies were flooded. Water was seen flowing from the roof like a waterfall on platform number one at Bhopal railway station. Due to heavy rain, one to one and a half feet of water filled the intersections of the city. Water also filled many low-lying areas including Bairagarh. Goods of shops were washed away in Safia College Road. A record three inches of rain was recorded in Gwalior on Thursday. Apart from this, heavy rain also occurred in Raisen, Chhindwara, Rewa, Sagar, Mandla and Malajkhand of Balaghat district.

The weather department has issued an alert of heavy rain in the next few hours in 11 districts, namely North Neemuch, Sehore, Bhimbetka of Raisen, Ashoknagar, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Ratangarh of Datia, Orchha of Niwari, Tikamgarh, Khajuraho of Chhatarpur and Panna. There may be lightning along with thunder here.

Arun Sharma, senior meteorologist of Bhopal Meteorological Center, said that the monsoon trough is passing through Guna and Narsinghpur districts of MP. There is a cyclonic circulation system over South Gujarat and Saurashtra. At the same time, Western Disturbance is also active. Due to this, heavy rains are continuing in many districts of MP.
