Bhopal, 10 August (HS). Monsoon activities have started once again in Madhya Pradesh. On Friday, 18 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur received heavy and light rains. Sidhi received the highest rainfall of 41 mm i.e. 2.75 inches. Malajkhand of Damoh and Balaghat districts received 4.5 inches of rain. Due to cyclonic circulation and monsoon trough line in the state, there is an alert for heavy rains in 22 districts today on Saturday. However, from August 11, the rain activity will decrease and drizzle, thunder and lightning will continue at some places.
The 22 districts which are expected to receive heavy rains on Saturday include Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Sagar, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Anuppur, Mauganj and Satna. According to the Meteorological Department, currently 3 cyclonic circulations and one monsoon trough line are active. The monsoon trough is passing through many districts of MP. Due to this, there may be rain in the northern and eastern parts on Saturday. Thunderstorms and light rain are expected in the remaining districts.
On Friday, about half an inch of rain fell in Dhar, Khandwa and Rewa in the state. Bhopal, Betul, Indore, Guna, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Mandla, Ratlam, Sagar, Satna, Seoni and Umaria also recorded light rain. The state has received 69 percent more rain this season. Till now, 22 inches of rain should have fallen, but 25.7 inches of water has already fallen. After June-July, there was activity of strong system in the first week of August as well.
