Heavy, icy winds will increase the chill in Jharkhand for the next 48 hours, cold wave alert in these districts

News India Live, Digital Desk: The severity of cold is going to increase in Jharkhand. Amidst the falling temperature in the last few days, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for the next 48 hours for the western districts of the state. After snowfall in the mountains of North India, the icy winds blowing from there are directly entering Jharkhand, due to which the chill has suddenly increased in the state.

According to Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, there is a strong possibility of cold wave in the western parts of the state for the next two days. Its maximum impact will be seen in districts like Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Lohardaga.

Why has it suddenly become so cold?

Meteorologists say that after the recent heavy snowfall in the mountains, cold and dry winds from the north-western direction are blowing towards the plains at high speed. Since there is no obstruction in the path of these icy winds, they are directly affecting the weather of Jharkhand, due to which a huge drop in day and night temperatures is being recorded.

Mercury will fall by 4 to 5 degrees

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in these districts will drop during the next 48 hours. 4 to 5 degrees Celsius There could be a huge decline of up to Rs. This means that in many places the night temperature can reach between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius, which will make the nights very cold. Even though there may be light sunshine during the day, there will be shivering due to cold winds.

Meteorological Department issued advice

In view of the increasing cold and the possibility of cold wave, the Meteorological Department has advised people, especially children and the elderly, to take special precautions.

• Unless absolutely necessary, avoid leaving the house in the morning and evening.
• Use warm clothes, hat, and gloves while going out.
• Keep consuming hot beverages to keep your body warm.
• Farmers have also been advised to take appropriate measures to protect their crops from frost.

There is hope of some relief from cold after the next two days, but for now the people of Jharkhand will have to be prepared for the attack of this icy wind.
