Heatwave Alert: 11 states of the country become Red Zone…take these measures to avoid heatwave

Heatwave Alert India: As soon as the month of April arrives, the heat wave has started across the country. The sun is blazing fire in the third week of the month. Due to the scorching heat, 11 states of the country are in the grip of heat wave. On Friday, the temperature in 17 cities of these 11 states was recorded more than 43 degrees in the afternoon.

Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, North Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, East Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand recorded temperatures between 42 to 44 degrees.

What is the condition of 19 cities of Madhya Pradesh?

In 19 cities of Madhya Pradesh the temperature remains more than 40 degrees. The afternoon temperature in the capital Bhopal was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the temperature has also increased in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Heat wave will continue in these cities

According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions will continue in parts of eastern states West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Gujarat for the next 3 to 4 days. In the western states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan, the temperature will cross 40 degrees within the next one to two days. The heat wave is likely to continue over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on April 20 and 21 and gradually subside thereafter.

  • Heat wave conditions are likely to persist in many/parts of Gangetic West Bengal on April 20 and 21.
  • There will be a heat wave warning in some parts of Odisha on April 20.
  • Heat wave will prevail in various parts of Jharkhand and Bihar from 20th to 24th April.
  • Heat wave will continue in eastern Uttar Pradesh and interior Tamil Nadu on April 20.
  • Gangetic West Bengal is also likely to experience severe heat conditions.
  • Hot and humid weather is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe during April 20-24.

How to protect yourself from heat stroke?

To avoid heat stroke, guidelines have been issued by the Health Ministry, which you will have to follow.

  • Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly throughout the day.
  • Wear breathable, light-colored cotton clothing to avoid heat.
  • Wear sunglasses, an umbrella or a hat and appropriate shoes when going outside.
  • Stay away from high protein food and avoid consuming stale food.
  • Avoid drinking beverages like alcohol, tea, coffee and soda.
