Hearing on the petition of 43 cyber thugs against arrest in Rouse Avenue Court today

New Delhi, 27 July (HS). Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court sent 43 cyber thugs arrested under Operation Chakra Part-2 to one-day judicial custody on Friday night. All these accused were arrested by the CBI from Gurugram. The accused have challenged their arrest in the Rouse Avenue Court. The Rouse Avenue Court will hear the petition today (Saturday).

According to the CBI, all these cyber thugs used to operate a call center in Gurugram and from here they used to commit online fraud with foreign nationals. The CBI had registered a case in this matter on 22 July 2024 and started an investigation to uncover this fraud. The CBI raided 7 locations in Delhi and Cyber ​​City Gurugram. The investigation revealed that cyber fraud was being carried out from DLF Gurugram. It was being operated from a call center located in DLF Gurugram.

CBI has recovered 130 computer hard disks, 65 mobile phones and 5 laptops from the possession of cyber thugs. Apart from this, a large number of victims' information, documents, call recordings and transcripts have been recovered. To carry out the crime, the accused used to send a popup on people's computers and ask them to download suspicious software. After this, they used to transfer money in the name of restoring their system.
