Ranchi, 20 April (Hindu). The bail plea of Hazaribagh coal businessman Izhar Ansari was heard in the court of ED Special Judge PK Sharma on Saturday. The case was argued on behalf of Izhar Ansari. The court granted time to the ED to file its reply. The court has fixed April 23 as the next hearing date in the case. Izhar Ansari is accused in the coal linkage embezzlement case worth crores of rupees. On March 15, ED had filed a charge sheet in the court against Izhar Ansari and Ishtiaq Ansari and a company of Izhar Ansari. ED had filed a charge sheet with all the evidence found in the investigation. ED had given information to the court about how Izhar was involved in coal business and how he acquired huge wealth from illegal coal business.
Izhar Ansari is the director of many shell companies. He operates black money through shell companies. On January 16, ED had raided Izhar Ansari's hideout. In the raid, ED had recovered many important documents along with Rs 13 lakh cash. Izhar is also accused of earning crores of rupees illegally by selling 86568 tonnes of coal in the market.
