New Delhi, 09 April (HS). The Supreme Court will hear on April 16 the demand for matching VVPAT slips with EVM data in elections. Today this matter could not be heard due to lack of time.
A bench headed by Justice BR Gavai had on April 1 issued a notice to the Election Commission while hearing the petition seeking matching of all VVPAT slips. This petition has been filed by the NGO Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The petition demands that all VVPAT slips be matched. In the current system, only VVPAT slips of five EVMs of an assembly constituency are matched.
