Prayagraj, 10 May (HS). Allahabad High Court has directed to present the petition seeking a stay on the arrest of BJP MLA Ashok Rana and son Priyank Rana from Dhampur seat of Bijnor before the bench hearing MP MLA cases on May 14.
Government lawyer said that petitioner Ashok Rana is an MLA. On which the division bench of Justice Siddharth and Justice Surendra Singh has given this order.
It is known that a construction company got the contract for road widening. Saharanpur resident company manager Ravinder Pundir lodged an FIR against the MLA and his son. Alleged that the father and son asked for money from him. When he refused, the roller machine was snatched from the company driver on 9 September 23. On complaint, the machine was returned in damaged condition after a week. Even after this, when the demanded money was not given, they entered the company and started arson and firing. Which has been challenged by the MLA and his son in the petition. The petition will be heard on May 14.
