New Delhi, 02 April (HS). In view of the increasing heat in the coming days, the Union Health Ministry has called a meeting on Wednesday to prepare an action plan. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will be present in this meeting. In this meeting to be held at around 3 pm, NITI Aayog, DGHS, DG of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Director AIIMS, Medical Superintendent (MS) of Safdarjung, MS of RML will also be present. In the meeting, preparations to deal with heat-related diseases will be reviewed as well as an action plan will be prepared for the upcoming summer season.
According to the Health Ministry, this time the Meteorological Department has predicted extreme heat for three months. Keeping this in view, an action plan will be prepared on hospital preparedness and measures to deal with it. It is noteworthy that this time the weather department has predicted higher than normal temperatures in most parts of the country during the summer season from April to June and the possibility of heat wave lasting for more days. The Meteorological Department on Monday released the forecast for the next three months. It said that more than normal heat wave days are likely over most parts of South Peninsula, Central India, East India and plains of North West India during the summer season.
