Dehradun/Uttarkashi, 25 October (HIST). Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Rawat reached Yamunotri Dham on Friday and took stock of the health arrangements. He inspected the medical units on the yatra route and took information from the departmental officials about the health services being provided to the devotees. Along with this, he also formally inaugurated the transit hostel built at a cost of Rs 285 lakh for doctors at Jankichatti, the main stop of Yamunotri Dham.
Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said in a statement that the focus of the government is to provide better treatment to the common people by upgrading health services in the state. Along with this, high level health arrangements have to be ensured at the four Dhams and pilgrimage routes of the state so that the pilgrims coming on Char Dham Yatra from across the country do not face any health related problems. During this time, he also inspected the medical relief posts Ram Mandir, Bhandeligad, Naukainchi and Bhairo Mandir established on the foot route from Jankichatti to Yamunotri Dham and gave necessary instructions to the departmental officers. Along with this, he also inaugurated the newly constructed Transit Hostel for doctors at Jankichatti at a cost of Rs 285 lakh.
He said that with the construction of transit hostel in Jankichatti, the residential problem of doctors has been solved. He expressed his displeasure over the under-construction building of Primary Health Center Janakichatti not being ready. He instructed the executing organization and departmental officers to complete the construction work soon.
During the inspection, the Minister took information from all the doctors, paramedical staff and health friends posted at Yamunotri Dham and Yatra halts about the health facilities being provided to the pilgrims. He instructed the Chief Medical Officer to provide life-saving equipment, oxygen cylinders and medicines in adequate quantities in all medical units. Also asked to provide 108 emergency ambulance service as well as Advanced Life Support Ambulance (ALS) and Cardiac Ambulance service on the yatra routes and to minimize the response time of ambulances. During the inspection, Dr. Rawat met the local people and pilgrims and took feedback from them regarding health services and also sought suggestions.
After this, Dr. Rawat visited Yamunotri Dham and offered prayers at the temple and prayed for the progress of the state and the prosperity of the common people. After returning from the Dham, he also inspected the Government Primary School and Junior High School in Kharsali. Earlier, on his arrival at Yamunotri Dham, Health Minister Dr. Rawat was warmly welcomed by BJP workers and local people. During this period, Dr. Rawat interacted with the people and learned about their problems.
During this, Chief Medical Officer Uttarkashi Dr. B.S. Rawat, BJP District President Satendra Rana along with other departmental officers and BJP officials were present.
