Meerut, August 19 (HS). As soon as the dengue season started, the health department became alert about it. Along with spraying anti-larva, the health department has prepared dengue wards in the Medical College and PM Sharma District Hospital. Health centers in rural areas have also been alerted.

As soon as the rainy season comes to an end, the dengue season begins. As soon as cases of mosquito-borne diseases come to the fore, the health department comes on alert mode. While the health department itself is working to prevent cases of dengue and malaria, it has also taken up the task of making people aware of it. The district administration has given instructions to the gram panchayats and urban bodies to remove waterlogging during the rainy season.

According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria, a rapid response team has been formed for anti-larva spray in waterlogged areas. A 50-bed dengue ward has been set up at LLRM Medical College. Similarly, a 20-bed dengue ward has been prepared at Pyarelal Sharma Divisional District Hospital. The malaria department has completed preparations to conduct anti-larva inspection through urban bodies on coolers, back plates of refrigerators, tyres kept on roofs, water filled pots in homes and commercial establishments. Fogging is being done in rural and urban areas.
