Berlin, 22 February. Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel have mutually agreed to part ways in June, the club confirmed via its official website on Wednesday.
Although Tuchel's contract was due to expire in June 2025, following amicable talks between Tuchel and Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Driessen the two parties agreed to part ways a year ahead of schedule.
After two consecutive league defeats, Bayern currently sit second in the Bundesliga, eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, and lost the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg to Lazio 1-0 last week. . “In an open and good dialogue, we reached the decision to mutually end our cooperation in the summer,” Driessen said in an official statement released by the club.
