Complaint filed against AAP MLA: An employee of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has filed an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi. The complaint has been filed against the Model Town MLA for allegedly assaulting him on Wednesday night.

59-year-old Satpal Singh has said in his FIR that 'I was working at the sewage pumping station in Kalyan Vihar, when Tripathi came with 20-25 people and asked me whether the sewage water is discharged or not. I told him that the pump is running, but whether the sewage is discharged or not is not my responsibility. Hearing this, Tripathi slapped me and then hit me with his shoe, due to which I fell down. The people who came with him also started beating me. No one came forward to help me. The police was informed after hours.

According to the report, Deputy Police Commissioner Jitendra Meena said, “We are investigating the matter and investigating it properly.” The case was registered under sections 221 (obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions) 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty) 121 (1) (intentionally causing hurt or causing grievous hurt to prevent a public servant from discharge of his duty) and section 3(5) (common purpose).
