Haribhau was born on 17 August 1945 in a Maratha family in Phulambri town of Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. He started his political career by joining BJP from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He studied at Saraswati Bhavan School Pipiraraja in Aurangabad. He studied only till 10th.
Joined RSS at the age of 13
Haribhau Kisanrao joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 13. Haribhau was first elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Aurangabad East seat in 1985 from BJP. He has become MLA five times from Phulambri Assembly seat. Phulambri Assembly falls in Aurangabad district. Here he is so popular that he is known as 'Nana'.
Sell newspapers door to door
Haribhau was born in an extremely poor family. His father was a common farmer. To support his family, he sold prints door to door in Phulambri, Aurangabad for many years. He is so fond of farming that his house is named Krishi Yog.
He was the speaker of the assembly in the first BJP government
Haribhau won the MLA election from the Phulambri constituency in 2014 against Kalyan Kale of the Indian National Congress (INC). He also won the 2019 assembly election from the same constituency. When the BJP formed its first government in Maharashtra in 2014, he was appointed the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He has also been a cabinet minister in the Maharashtra government.
