Kolkata Rape Murder Case: On August 21, a hearing was held in the Calcutta High Court on the incident of brutality against a female doctor at Kolkata's R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. Protests are being held by health workers in many districts of India in this case.

The case was heard by a division bench of Chief Justice TS Sivagalanam and Justice H Bhattacharya. During the hearing, the High Court said that at present there is no need for the state government to submit the report to the court.

The state government told the court that it has prepared its report in accordance with the previous order. On which the court said that you should keep your report with you because the Supreme Court has taken cognizance of this matter.

During the hearing, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the government said that as per the order of the Supreme Court, the security of the hospital has been handed over to CISF. Along with this, the court has also expressed concern over revealing the identity of the victim.

'We will have to wait'

During the hearing, the HC said, 'The Supreme Court has taken note of all the issues. The appointment of CISF has been considered, the report will be given by the CBI and the state by August 22.

'The identity of the victim should not be revealed'

Expressing concern over the victim's identity being revealed, the HC said, 'We had requested not to upload the photos in our earlier order. If we look at the decision given by the Supreme Court, there is a positive direction not to reveal the identity of the victim.

On this, the counsel for the petitioner said that unfortunately the victim's friends have old photographs and they are circulating the photographs today.

The HC further said, 'We have also hidden the name of the victim's parents. You did not mention it.' The petitioner's lawyer said, “One thing that can be done is that the court can request all media persons to ensure that the identity of the victim and the family is not revealed.” To which the court said that they will do so. The next hearing in this case will be on September 4.
