Why did Nirmala Sitharaman praise?
Generally, the ideologies of BJP and National Conference (NC) are completely different. Both are considered diametrically opposed to each other. But when the budget and development of Jammu and Kashmir were being discussed in the Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman kept politics aside.
Praising Omar Abdullah, he said that he (Omar) is very serious and sensible regarding financial matters. Nirmala ji acknowledged that the new government and CM of Jammu and Kashmir are making efforts in the right direction to improve the economy of the state. He appreciated Omar’s seriousness on how the Centre’s money should be used properly.
It was indeed a big deal to hear one’s praise from the leader of an opposition party, that too in Parliament.
Omar Abdullah’s ‘sweet’ reply
Now it was the turn of CM Omar Abdullah. Had it been any other leader, perhaps he would have found a political angle in this praise, but Omar responded with great nobility and grace.
While sharing the video of the Finance Minister on the social media platform ‘X’, Omar Abdullah wrote that he is very grateful for these kind words of the Finance Minister. He said in a very composed manner, “We (the state government) want to work together with the Center for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Politics has its place, but we are together in development.”
His answer won the hearts of people on social media.
