Bikaner, 6 August (HS). One crore saplings will be planted in the state on Wednesday. This will be the first time in the history of Rajasthan when 'one tree in the name of mother' will be planted amidst festive atmosphere in cities and villages. This initiative of the Chief Minister will make Hariyali Teej even more special this time.
In this year's budget, a target was set to plant 7 crore saplings by involving every family under the Chief Minister's Plantation Campaign. Under this, a historic task of planting one crore saplings will be done across the state on August 7. This initiative will prove to be a milestone in making the state green.
According to Hari Shankar Acharya, Public Relations Department officer, plantation will be done extensively in Bikaner district. Women dressed in traditional lehriya attire will participate in it amidst the melodies of Mangal Geet. Marudhara Biological Park of Bichwal will be witness to the district level function. Where plantation will be done from 10 am. All its preparations have been finalized. Plantation will also be done in every block and village panchayats.
Apart from these, plantation will be done at schools, colleges, roadsides, Scout Guide headquarters, Anganwadi centers, Gram Panchayats and Panchayat Samitis, health centers, government offices, industrial units including RSRDC and MNREGA work sites. A target has been set to plant about ten lakh saplings in the district.
Women power will have a special contribution in this program to be held on Hariyali Teej. Women public representatives, women officers and employees, Lakhpati Didi, Rajivika Sakhi, women of self-help groups, Anganwadi workers and assistants, Asha workers, NREGA women mates and workers, school-college students have been invited to these programs. Tree friends who plant saplings will also be given digital certificates through the Hariyalo Rajasthan mobile app.
