Under the auspices of the Assistant Internal Audit and Taxation Officers Association, a state level provincial conference was organized on October 19 in a building located in Bilai Mata Vindhyavasini ward of Dhamtari city. Taxation officers from across the state participated in this conference.

The district officials and members welcomed the state officials and members attending the state level provincial conference by garlanding them. After that the conference started. Addressing the conference, former state president Prakash Shukla said that senior internal audit and taxation officers across the state have been waiting for the government for promotion for many decades. While working on this post, many have reached the verge of retirement due to lack of promotion. The government is depriving these officers of promotion. There is deep anger among them regarding this.

Dhamtari official Rohit Borjha said that there were 533 taxation officers in the organization across the state, most of whom had retired while waiting for promotion, but the state government has not given promotion till now. The government is ignoring and doing injustice by attacking the interests of these officers, due to which there is intense anger among senior internal audit and taxation officers across the state. Taxation officers of district panchayats have been waiting for promotion for years. In the provincial conference held in Dhamtari, it was decided to intensify the struggle for promotion. Apart from this, various problems arising during the work were also discussed for hours in the conference. A large number of contracting officers including Purushottam Diwan, Sampat, Sushil Kumar Bhaskar, Lalchand Dilli, Rakesh Dhruv, Jhalendra Kanwar, Gulab Chandrakar, Vedram Sinha, Mahendra Prasad Gangrel, Vimal Kumar Jain, Girendra Kumar Sahu, Dilwar Sai Markam, Vedprakash Sinha were present in the conference. Demands from taxation officers included

RK Tonde from Bilaspur, Gajesh Yadu from Raipur, JS Paikra said that the designation of Senior Internal Audit and Taxation Officer at the District Panchayat level should be changed to give the status of Gazetted Officer (Senior Panchayat Development Officer) and Additional Chief Executive Officer Panchayat Raj. Demanded to give the entire charge of the Chief Executive Officer in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer. At the district level, the District Auditor should be declared Deputy Director Panchayat (Gazetted) Officer.
