On this occasion, HAL CMD DK Sunil, Independent Director Divya Gupta, HAL Director (HR) AB Pradhan, TOPS Joint CEO Col Rakesh Yadav, SAI Regional Director Vishnu Sudhakaran, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) Under Secretary Kamkhan Singh and senior officials were present.
HAL in partnership with Sports Authority of India is supporting the Games to provide world class facilities and create a platform for India’s talented sportspersons. As part of its CSR initiatives, HAL has now committed to set up “HAL-SAI High Performance Centre” at SAI, Bengaluru.
The center will leverage science and technology to improve the performance of athletes. This center will have facilities in the areas of anthropometry, biomechanics, exercise biochemistry, nutrition, sports and exercise, physiology, psychology, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, physiotherapy etc.
HAL has always been at the forefront of sports development in the country. As part of CSR, HAL has already partnered with Sports Authority of India to run the HAL-SAI Sports Training Center in Koraput (Odisha) to provide training to tribal youth in archery, football and athletics. Another important step taken by the company is to set up a football academy in Bengaluru with FIFA standard football grounds to identify and train young talent.
This “HAL-SAI High-Performance Centre” is an important milestone in HAL’s journey to unleash India’s sporting potential. With this state-of-the-art facility, athletes will have the best opportunities to succeed at the international level, including the Olympics, and enhance national pride.
