An auto packed with devotees coming from Jehanabad to Patna to take a dip of faith in the Ganga was crushed by a speeding truck, in which three people lost their lives and many people are hanging between life and death.
This heart-wrenching incident happened in the morning at Simri Four Lane of Parsa Bazar police station area of Patna. There were more than a dozen people in the auto, including children and women, who had left their homes in the hope of earning virtue, but little did they know that death was waiting for them on the way.
How did the festive atmosphere turn into mourning?
According to eyewitnesses, when the auto-rickshaw full of devotees reached Simri four lane, an uncontrolled and speeding truck coming from behind hit it hard. The collision was so severe that the auto jumped in the air and fell into a deep pit filled with water on the roadside.
In this terrible accident, two women died on the spot, while another person died while being taken to the hospital for treatment.

Hearing the terrible sound of the collision, people nearby ran to the spot. The scene there was heart-wrenching. People were screaming and people trapped in the auto overturned in the pit were pleading for help. Local people immediately started rescue work and informed the police.
The police reached the spot, with the help of the people, pulled out all the injured from the pit and admitted them to PMCH in Patna for treatment, where the condition of many of the injured is still critical.
The dealer of death absconded
The truck driver who caused this painful accident, sensing the gravity of the situation, left the truck and ran away. Police have seized the truck and are conducting raids in search of the driver.
