Gwalior, July 2 (HS). In compliance with the instructions of Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, a tree plantation campaign is being run in the power companies of the Energy Department with the aim of improving the environment. Under the campaign, on Tuesday, a large number of saplings were planted in the first phase of massive plantation in various sub-stations and residential colonies of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company including Gwalior. As against the target of planting 2000 saplings in various sub-stations of MP Transco in the state, 3261 saplings were planted.
In Gwalior, plantation was done at 220 kV substation Mahalgaon, Sitholi, 132 kV substation Motijheel, Murar and Tighra etc. substations. Apart from the employees of MP Transco, their family members also showed special enthusiasm for tree plantation. Plantation has been done with great enthusiasm in the residential colonies of MP Transco. Apart from oxygen emitting trees, these plants include various species of fruit bearing and shady plants. The employees and family members who planted the trees took an oath and also voluntarily took the responsibility of taking care of these plants.
Plantation was also done in all the offices of MP Transco in the state
In Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, along with Gwalior, plantation drive is being conducted in the premises of all the offices of MP Transco including the headquarter Jabalpur, 42 transmission line maintenance offices, 416 ultra high tension sub stations and residential colonies. Under this, plantation is being done by every employee including outsourced employees and their family members.
