Gurugram: Election offices will not be opened in religious places during Lok Sabha elections

Gurugram, 22 April (HS). During Lok Sabha elections, political parties and candidates are required to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission. No political party or candidate should open an office by encroaching on public or private property. Election office will not be opened in any religious complex. DC and District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said this while issuing the instructions.

He said that if any political party or candidate wants to organize a rally or road show for the elections, then it is necessary to take permission from the Assistant Election Officer. There should be no traffic jam on the road during the road show. No political party will be able to take out a road show convoy from the place where there will be a hospital and trauma centre. Apart from this, loudspeakers will not be used at night from 10 pm to 6 am. Candidates and party leaders will have to control their language during the election campaign.

Apart from this, no office will be opened near educational institutions and hospitals. No office will be opened within a radius of 200 meters around the polling booth established in the district. Only the party flag and banner along with the party symbol photo can be displayed in the office. The size of banners used in the office should not exceed four by eight feet. He said that surveillance teams will also keep an eye on the election offices. If more resources or money are being used for publicity, these teams can record it.
