Gurugram: After withdrawal of nominations, 23 candidates left in the fray for Lok Sabha elections


Gurugram, 9 May (Hindustan Reporter). After the withdrawal of nominations in the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday, there are now 23 candidates left in the fray. Election symbols were also allotted to these candidates on Thursday itself. The election symbols of the candidates who are from political parties will remain the same.

The names of Balwan Singh, Rahul Thakran and Soni Hemlata are among the candidates who withdrew their nominations on Thursday. The names of all the 23 candidates contesting the elections will be listed in Hindi alphabetical order in the ballot paper and EVM. The information of which will be pasted on the notice board in the District Election Officer's office. After this, Returning Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav also allotted election symbols to all the candidates and their election agents after 3 pm. Apart from five candidates from recognized national and state political parties, 9 candidates from registered political parties and 9 independent candidates are contesting the elections. Under the registered election symbols of recognized national and state political parties, lotus flower to Rao Inderjit Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party, hand symbol to Indian National Congress candidate Raj Babbar, key to Jannayak Janata Party candidate Rahul Yadav, key to Bahujan Samaj Party. Elephant has been allotted to Vijay Kumar and glasses to Sorab Khan from Indian National Lok Dal.

Similarly, among the candidates of registered political parties, Anwar from Social Democratic Party of India got an auto rickshaw, Akash Vyas from Bharatiya Shakti Chetna Party got a flute, Ishwar Singh from People's Party of India (Democratic) got a basket of fruits, Dharmendra from Swayam Shashan Party got a flute. Glass to Thakran, diamond to Bharatiya Jawan Kisan Party candidate Lal Chand Yadav, pressure cooker to Vandana Gulia from Right to Recall, gas cylinder to Vijay Kumar from Jan Sevak Kranti Party, battery torch to SUCI (Communist Party) candidate Shravan Kumar, Independent Samay Singh was allotted a cot and Coconut Farm election symbol was allotted to Sampooran Anand from Rashtriya Lok Swaraj Party. Similarly, among the independent candidates, ship to Akshat Gait, mill to Ajay Kumar, sewing machine to Ashok Jangra, brush to Azad Singh, sitar to Kusheshwar Bhagat, chess board to Fauji Jai Cover Tyagi (Dixit), crane to Vishnu, apple to Singh Ram. The returning officer said that General Observer of Gurugram parliamentary seat Dr. Dilraj Kaur, Police Observer Shankar Chaudhary, Expenditure Observers Durga Dutt and Saurabh Kumar will hold a meeting with all the 23 candidates and their agents on Friday in the conference hall located at the Mini Secretariat.
