Mohali: 12 to 15 feet high snow has accumulated in Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib. According to the information, the holy doors of Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, situated at an altitude of 15 thousand feet, are opening from May 25 this year. In this regard, work is done every year by Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust with the help of the administration.
According to Trust head Narinderjit Singh Bindra, at present 12 to 15 feet of snow has accumulated near Gurudwara Sahib. He told that on Sunday a team of army personnel had gone to inspect this holy place. He told that the holy lake is also completely covered with snow and there is a white sheet of snow spread around it.
According to Bindra, the road will be built by cutting ice from the Atalkutty Glacier, which is built about two kilometers before Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib. Snow removal service is always done by Indian Army soldiers. This year, the Army soldiers were to leave for Ghagharia from April 15, where they will set up their camp in the Gurudwara premises and start cutting snow every day on their request from April 20. The date of opening the doors of Hemkunt Sahib has been fixed as 25th May.
