Varanasi, 15 November (HS). On Friday, on Kartik Purnima, the 555th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, was celebrated in a joyous atmosphere in the religious city of Kashi. After the end of the Guru Granth Sahib recitation, Ragi groups Bhai Jagtar Singh and Bhai Gurupreet Singh performed Shabad Kirtan in the Gurudwara located at Gurubag, illuminated with colorful electric chandeliers. The devotees were elated after listening to Shabad Kirtan. Before this, at 3.45 in the morning, Guru Granth Sahib Ji was given a grand welcome with kirtan and bhajan in a palanquin decorated with flowers. After Naam Simran, Kirtan Asa Di Vaar, Akhand Path Sahib continued till afternoon.
After this, the group of devotees chanted ‘Kal Taran Guru Nanak Aaya’, ‘Baba Akhai Hajiyan Shubh Amlaan Bajo Both Cry’, ‘Ghur Ki Vani Aayi, Tin Sagli Chintai Maiti’, ‘Satguru Nanak Pragatya Miti Dhund Jag Chanan Hoa’ etc. through Guruvani Shabad-Kirtan. Enjoyed the company. During Prakashotsav, the students of Guru Nanak English School Gurubag, Guru Nanak Khalsa Girls Inter College and Guru Nanak English School Shivpur enthralled the devotees by singing Shabad. After this, the devotees took Prasad in Guru’s unbroken langar. Chief Granthi of the Gurudwara, Bhai Ranjit Singh and Meet Granthi Bhai Mahant Singh expressed their gratitude by thanking the devotees and company who came to the Gurudwara.
