Palamu, June 5 (HS). Gurha of Tarhasi police station area has been a stronghold of thieves. Thieves are constantly being caught from this area. Once again three thieves have been caught. One thief has been caught after 15 years. The stolen motor pump has been recovered from the thieves.
Two motor pump thieves have been arrested from Gurha of Tarhasi police station area. On June 2, both the thieves had stolen the motor pump from the farm of Dilip Kumar Pandey, son of Ram Kathin Pandey, in Suggi village. After the case was registered, police station in-charge Neeraj Kumar took action and arrested Ittu Khan and Tannum Khan. On their information, the stolen motor pump was recovered hidden in the sand in the Amanat river in Gurha.
The police station in-charge said that both the thieves were seen on the farm of Dilip Kumar Pandey on June 2. When the motor pump was stolen, Dilip Pandey lodged an FIR and suspected the above two of stealing the motor pump. Their arrest and subsequent recovery of the motor pump proved the suspicion correct. After stealing the motor pump, they were preparing to sell it. Before that the police recovered it.
After reaching the farm, both the thieves opened the motor pump in the darkness of the night and ran away with it. A day before the incident, Dilip had irrigated his farm with the motor pump. But the next day when he reached for irrigation, the motor pump was not found at the respective places.
A notorious accused Moeed Khan alias Savil Khan of Gurha, 38, who was absconding for 15 years on the charge of buying and selling stolen goods, was arrested. He was a temporary warrantee in Barwadih police station district Latehar case number 08/2009. A case was registered against him for theft and buying and selling stolen goods and hiding them.
Station in-charge Neeraj Kumar informed that the accused was absconding for 15 years. On receiving secret information that the accused was in his village Gurha, he was arrested with the help of armed forces and sent to Latehar District Court on Wednesday.
