The Indian team has been announced for the Davis Cup tennis event to be played in Stockholm, Sweden from September 14, in which Gujarat's talented player Aryan Shah has been selected as a reserve player. He also became the first Gujarati player to get a place in the Davis Cup team.
18-year-old Aryan is currently ranked 657th in the world and sixth in all India. He is the youngest player among the top-30 players of India. The Indian team for Davis Cup includes Sumit Nagal, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Sriram Balaji, Nicky Poncha, Siddharth Vishwakarma, Aryan Shah (reserve) and Rohit Rajpal (captain). Aryan has played in the Australian, French, Wimbledon and US Open Grand Slams at the junior level. He is also India's number one under-18 player.
