Gandhinagar, July 31 (HS). Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make 3 crore Lakhpati Didis to make mothers and sisters across the country economically self-reliant and Gujarat has decided to make 7.50 lakh such women Lakhpati Didis. He said that the Prime Minister has given various schemes worth Rs 3 lakh crore for women in this year's budget. To take women forward on the path of self-reliance, the work of empowering rural women as 'Drone Didi' by training them as drone pilots has been done under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister said this in a conversation with women of self-help groups across the state under the 'Sakhi Samvad' program organized at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
While encouraging the women power of self-help groups and Sakhi Mandals of rural areas, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel called upon them to earn the trust of more and more people by maintaining the high quality of the products of their Mandals. In this context, he said that if people get better quality products, then the credibility of Sakhi Mandal will also increase and the sale of their products will automatically increase through mouth publicity.
Under the 'Sakhi Samvad' program organized by the Rural Development Department and Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC), the Chief Minister distributed assistance and benefits worth Rs 350 crore to more than three lakh rural sisters of 28 thousand self-help groups. He interacted directly with the women of 17 rural Sakhi Mandals from districts ranging from Dang-Ahwa to Banaskantha-Vadu and Panchmahal to Porbandar and learned about their success stories. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel assured that the government will always strive to develop a complete chain from production to marketing of the goods made by Sakhi Mandal as well as to solve small and big problems in marketing.
Rural Development Minister Raghavji Patel said that the state government is always ready to help the women of self-help groups with a positive attitude towards the demands put forward by them in dialogue with the Chief Minister. In the presence of the Chief Minister, the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company of the state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pidilite Company to connect 500 women of self-help groups in livelihood-oriented activities. Apart from this, the Chief Minister launched a new portal for online registration of women of self-help groups to participate in 'Saras Mela' and the new Nirmal Gujarat 2.0 Award Portal to participate in the awards at the Gram Panchayat, Tehsil and District Panchayat level under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Before the program, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel visited 33 stalls of 33 districts set up by women of self-help groups at Mahatma Mandir and got detailed information about their products and interacted with the women. At the end of the program, Secretary of Rural Development Department Manisha Chandra expressed her gratitude.
Minister of State for Rural Development Kunwarjibhai Halpati, Gandhinagar District Panchayat President Shilpaben Patel, Gandhinagar Mayor Miraben Patel, MLA Ritaben Patel, MLA Jayantibhai Patel, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, senior officials of Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company and women from Sakhi Mandals from various districts of the state were present at the program.
